COMPLETE  TREE  CARE

A Customized Approach
to Pricing and Service

Tree removal is a one-size-fits-all kind of industry, right? Wrong. There are as many different approaches to removing and pruning trees as there are trees in your yard. That's why different companies can provide dramatically different quotes for the same job.

The key is to understand what services are provided with a quote. To simplify this, TreeJob.com offers a three-tiered tree pricing and service structure. We also provide a detailed explanation of what you can expect with each service level. Not only will this help you select the service classification that meets your needs, it provides a yardstick for determining whether the job was completed as promised.

Limbs and logs are lowered down the tree using ropes and other techniques. While time-consuming, this method prevents damage to your valuable lawn and landscaping from dropping branches. In addition, because large logs are chopped into smaller pieces before being lowered to the ground, log mills will not haul them away for free. Therefore, additional haul fees accompany this approach.

Debris is removed by wheelbarrow or hand truck to minimize damage from motorized vehicles such as a front end loader. This approach can increase job time by up to three hours and manpower requirements by five.

Stumps are ground six to eight inches below ground level and the chips hauled away. This service requires a separate visit to the job site and specialized equipment designed to reduce damage to your yard.

Roof, sidewalk, driveway and yard will be swept and cleaned.

Fine Pruning

All dead, dying, diseased, problematic, questionable or weak branches are pruned. Branches are selectively thinned to reduce wind resistance.

Dead wood up to 1/2 inch in diameter may remain within the main leaf area.

Trimming is done without the use of climbing spikes to avoid creating open wounds in the trunk through which insects can enter. This approach takes three times as long but is better for the health of the tree.

Limited equipment is allowed access to predetermined areas of your yard. The use of even limited equipment can reduce the time, and consequent costs, associated with your job. However, there is a risk of some lawn damage with all heavy machinery. Logs are taken to the street for disposal. Logs in 18 foot sections are hauled away for free by log mills.

If space allows, entire trees will be cut down or large sections will be taken out at a time.

Some lawn indentation or small ruts should be expected; however, shrubs and surrounding trees will be protected.

Debris will be chipped and left in a designated area for customer use as a landscaping mulch.

It may be necessary to move fences, shrubs and small structures to give the equipment access to the tree(s).

Medium Pruning

All dead, dying, diseased, problematic, questionable or weak branches are pruned. Branches are selectively thinned to reduce wind resistance.

Dead wood up to 1 inch in diameter may remain within the main leaf area, reducing pruning time by up to a third when compared to White Glove service.

Trimming is done with the use of climbing spikes.

All necessary equipment is given access to your yard via the most efficient route possible. Shrubbery will be removed if access or work zone is blocked. The lawn may have large ruts and some grass may need to be replanted following the job.

Ground conditions dictate severity of yard damage.

Generally, reseeding in select areas is all that is required.

Debris is cut and stacked into natural areas or areas designated by the customer.

Coarse (Safety) Pruning

Dead, diseased or obviously weak branches two inches in diameter or greater will be removed. Trimming is done with the use of climbing spikes.

Additional factors can increase the cost of a job.
  • Is the tree dead?
  • Is the stump uprooted?
  • Is the tree hazardous? i.e., around wires, a house or a structure
  • Will debris need to be hauled up or down a steep grade or incline?
  • Does the tree need to be climbed? Or can it be felled and removed?
  • Will the ground wet during the tree work?
  • Is there any access for personnel or equipment into the yard?
  • Does the debris need to be hauled away?
  • Are there dump fees that will be incurred for hauling away debris?
